To maintain ice shape, clarity, and daily production capacity—and to safeguard your warranty coverage—regular maintenance is required for all commercial ice machines.

The inline water filter system cartridge must be replaced every 6 months, and the refrigeration evaporator plate requires routine de-scaling.

Recommended 6-Monthly Maintenance Checklist

Executing a bi-annual maintenance routine extends machine lifespan, ensures strict food safety compliance, and minimises operational downtime:

1. Evaporator De-scaling: Remove scale, lime, and mineral buildup from the evaporator plate and water distribution system using an approved commercial de-scaler.

2. Sanitisation: Thoroughly sanitise the water reservoir, distribution lines, and internal storage bin.

3. Condenser Care: Clean and flush the air-cooled condenser coils; inspect the fan motor and fan blades for smooth rotation.

4. Water Line Inspection: Check the inline water inlet valve, float assembly, and line strainers for proper flow.

5. Sensor Calibration: Test and verify the calibration of the ice thickness sensor/probe.

6. Refrigeration Check: Inspect operating pressures, superheat, and sub-cooling levels; adjust charges if required.

7. Electrical & Mechanical Checks: Test compressor amperage draw, verify water pump operation, clean the pump housing, and inspect all contactors, relays, and wiring.

8. Harvest & Filter Check: Inspect harvest cycle mechanisms (hot gas valve/heater) and replace the inline water filter cartridge.
